A few things to know

Before you hand over.

How SitterLeaf works, what you control, and what still needs a conversation.

What does SitterLeaf make?

SitterLeaf turns the information you provide into an editable pet care pack with a daily routine, packing checklist, emergency contacts, and care notes. You can also record daily updates. Review every pack before using it.

Does it decide how much to feed my pet?

No. Enter the routine and quantities you already use. Missing details stay unconfirmed; SitterLeaf does not calculate portions, medicine doses, or a new care regimen.

Can I use SitterLeaf without AI?

Yes. You can enter, edit, and organize the care information yourself. Optional AI editing sends selected pet-care fields only to the provider configured for the site: DeepSeek by default, or OpenAI if the operator manually selects it. There is no automatic provider fallback. AI does not replace the owner’s review or professional instructions.

Do I need a ChatGPT account?

No. SitterLeaf has its own email-and-password accounts. Create a SitterLeaf account to save care packs across devices. A sitter opening a shared care link does not need an account.

How do I recover access to my account?

On the account page, use your email, saved recovery code, and a new password. A successful recovery replaces the code and signs out previous sessions, so save the new code shown to you. The service does not send password-reset emails; losing both your password and code can prevent recovery. Never share them with a sitter—use a care-pack share link.

Can I edit a care pack after creating it?

Yes. Edit and save your pack in the studio. Review the current version with your sitter. Previously downloaded or printed copies do not update automatically.

Can I use it for cats and other pets?

Yes. Describe your pet’s existing routine and adapt the activity and supplies fields. SitterLeaf does not supply species-specific care recommendations.

How does sharing work?

A share link gives its holder access to the entire saved care pack and journal, including contacts, home notes, and veterinary instructions, without a sitter account. Link holders can also add journal entries using a self-entered name. You can choose a 7- or 30-day expiry and revoke the link. Review the pack before sharing; there is no field-by-field sharing selection. Previously downloaded or printed copies cannot be recalled.

Can I print a care pack?

Yes. Open your pack and use its print action. Your browser’s print dialog can print it or save it as a PDF. Check the print preview before handing it to a caregiver.

Is SitterLeaf veterinary advice?

No. SitterLeaf organizes owner-provided details. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment, calculate doses, or assess emergencies. Contact a veterinarian or emergency animal hospital directly for urgent health concerns.

What does the readiness percentage mean?

The readiness check counts whether selected essential fields have been filled, including dates, feeding instructions, and contact details. It is not a safety score or a check of accuracy, and it does not detect every missing or conflicting instruction. Review the entire pack with your caregiver even when the percentage reaches 100%.

What does it cost?

Manual care-pack tools are available during the launch preview. The proposed optional pack is $9 for 20 AI edits. Purchases remain unavailable until payment configuration and checkout are enabled; the checkout screen must show the price and terms before any purchase.

How do I delete my saved care information?

Open the studio, select the saved pack, and use Delete. Revoke shared access before discarding a pack you have shared. Deleting a saved pack cannot remove copies that someone already downloaded or printed. See the privacy page for the current launch limitations.

Where are my care packs saved?

Signed-in edits save automatically to your cloud account after a short pause. Wait for the saved status; if a save fails, retry before leaving. There is no permanent local fallback. Before signing in, a draft is temporary and can be lost on reload or close. Clicking Sign in creates a single-use session handoff that expires after 30 minutes. Downloaded backups and printouts are separate copies you control.

How do I clear unsaved work?

Use Discard temporary changes in the studio. It clears the current temporary work without deleting packs already saved in the cloud. To remove a saved pack, select that pack and use Delete. Downloaded backups and printouts are separate copies and cannot be recalled.

Does a care pack replace a sitter agreement?

No. Agree the dates, responsibilities, access arrangements, and contact plan directly with your sitter. A care pack records instructions; it is not a booking contract, veterinary authorization, or guarantee that a task has been completed.
